A wonderful couple, Amber and Jeremy took the weather forecast for their September Portland wedding in stride. We had already reserved a canopy and the set-up crew just in case of bad weather. While the prior six months we had focused on the sunny day plan, the team at Voila Catering quickly switched over to the back up plan. Instead of an outdoor wedding ceremony with a change-over of the patio for dining, they had an indoor wedding ceremony, followed by passed hors d’oeuvres for the guests. The service team of Voila Catering moved the chairs from indoors to the pre-staged dining tables under the canopy. The chefs of Voila Catering cooked all the food on-site with a menu that features fresh, seasonal ingredients.
The wedding guests greeted the greeted the newlyweds with bubbles as they entered the wedding reception after doing a few intimate pictures. We always suggest to get most of the formal portraits and family photos done before the ceremony so everyone is looking their best and the newlyweds get to socialize with their guests before sitting down to a meal cooked on-site by our catering chef team.
The canopy set for 84 guests with important interior lighting for the evening kept all the guests and tables dry. By utilizing Weddings By Voila for planning all the needed event rentals, clients can sometimes split the costs of canopy, lighting, and water barrels with other events scheduled at the venue…this can save you hundreds compared to renting on your own and gives you the peace of mind that all the details will be professionally managed.
